Cosmic Rising: SYC x Astrology for Artists

This will be the third retreat that Madeleine (Astrology for Artists) and Gabrielle (Secret Yoga Club) are co-creating. Each time, they enjoy finding new ways of weaving their practices together: sensing how skies echo through the skull by tuning into celestial consciousness with the breath, or exploring the elemental landscape of the body with it’s spectrum of shifting modulations and seasons.

Astrology is a captivating framework to interrogate all the different aspects of our lives, our: temperament, elemental composition, relationships, behavioural patterns, longings, creative drive, our goals and dreams.

We use it to uncover the secrets we hide from ourselves, to sense the ebb and flow of our energy, to explore how we communicate and understand what we might need to seek in order to continue our personal evolution and create the lives we desire.

In Madeleine’s words:

Astrology is about who we are and who we want to be. To be open to this language is to be open to the world and our inner selves. Astrology connects us with our nature, making us be authentic. Astrology gives us freedom, it reveals the potential of who we can become but allows us to choose, to experiment, to play, to be creative with our lives.

To learn about our astrological chart is to understand in a deeper way our feelings, emotions, fears, pain, happiness, joy, love between other things. We are all fighting our own battles. We are all dancing in this wonderful tricky universe. We are all creating our lives – our most important creative act.

This week is one of deep discovery and transformation. Gabrielle and Madeleine work together, with you, to create a safe and inquisitive environment to invite personal illuminations and cultivate confidence and inspiration. We’ve chosen the second week of June 2020 because it will be the time in between eclipses, when the waning Moon will ask us to look within and Venus retrograde will make us revise and work our relationships, values and what love is. This eclipse season will be a powerful time as eclipses are portals for change and transformation and the time in between them is an ideal for ritual, meditation, and internal clearing – when we gain insights and experience revelation of things that need to change in our lives.

Madeleine’s work reveals the powerful shifts in the cosmos as they reverberate through our bones and impact how we experience life. You will explore the energies available in the skies in a very practical way, through: discussion, exercises, yoga, breathwork and writing.

Gabrielle’s offering will invite your to experience Madeleine’s teachings somatically – cultivating strength and receptivity in the body so we can access a deeper sense of intuitive knowing and move from that space of power and honesty.

Monte Da Orada is the perfect place to tune into the invisible and mysterious currents that carry us. The skies are lucid and bright. The pocket of valley surrounding the centre is rich green, regardless of the season. There are two rivers, a biopool with beautiful lotus flowers and an estuary of fresh water (the thrill of another current…)

The centre is enchanting and comfortable, with a sense of warmth and community that is precious, and very unique to Orada. It is perhaps not for those seeking pure luxury. We wash our own plate after eating and we might have some little insect friends – it would be strange to be immersed in nature and not!

Nearby are beautiful beaches and surfing, should you feel called. The food is delicious and abundant, often picked fresh from the garden. The shala has incredible views, as does the meditation room.

There is much to fall in love with, which is why are returning again.

An exciting shift is upon us, 2020 has big planetary placements. We are on the threshold of a tremendous transformation, a huge reality check. 2020 will also give birth to the alignment of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn – a powerful eruptive encounter, one that impacts us collectively and personally.
